Isolation is one of the key tactics a molester uses to groom a child for his heinous crime. Isolation from parents, isolation from teachers, isolation from friends, isolation from anyone who loves you. This isolation is what the molester uses in order to keep his crime a secret hidden deep in his victims.
I know this all too well as I am Victim #2 of I don’t know how many of Don Corley’s victims.
I had to carry this awful secret for months until a parent of one of my best friends mentioned something strange was going on with her son. She asked only that if there was something that needed to be said, that I tell someone, anyone. I told my best friend an hour later. The isolation was broken. Someone else knew. I was not alone any longer.
For victims of molestation, the feeling of being alone can last for years. It becomes a dark secret which can pull victims into dark depression. The only way to break free is to talk to somebody, anybody.
I am encouraged by the responses we have received from the website and the actions that people are taking to write a letter or sign a petition.
Thanks to you, I am not alone any longer.

Not being silent is the beginning of taking back your power. i am so sorry for your hurt, and so glad you didn’t let the isolation continue to hurt you further.
