This site, created by one victim and with the support of many others, is to be a centralized location giving information to anyone interested in keeping a sexual predator off our streets. We are not here to argue if a 30 year sentence is too little of a punishment. We agree that the justice system delivered a 30 year sentence to this particular man. We say a 30 year sentence is a 30 year sentence. The time should be served. We ask for your help in making that happen.
Here are the quick facts:
- Charles Donald Corley (i.e. Don Corley) abused his positive community status and sexually molested pre-pubescent and adolescent boys.
- It is proven that the sexual abuse happened over a 20 year period, and we believe it went on longer than that.
- The Homewood Police department identified over 20 victims. We believe there are more.
- Don Corley befriended the boys, earned the trust of the boy and parents, and under the guise of “sex education”, did perverse things and irrecoverably altered the future of every single victim.
- After one boy told his parents, who told the police, three boys ended up pressing charges against him.
- Instead of going to trial, in 1995 Don Corley plead guilty as a child molester, and was sentenced to a 30 year jail sentence.
- Alabama state law allows parole after 1/3 of the sentence has been served. Don Corley petitioned for parole in 2006 and after a strong public response, he was denied parole. He was eligible for parole again in another five years.
- Soon Don Corley will be up for parole again.
